Unit (course) Information / Syllabi

All students should enrol in 24 points credit points per
semester. Most units (courses) have a value of 6 credit points

  • the term "course" at UWA refers to the degree program e.g. Bachelor of Science
  • the term "unit" at UWA refers to an individual class e.g. ENVT2250 Ecology
  • Undergraduate Units: Those commencing with a 1, 2 or 3. (e.g., BIOL1130)
  • Postgraduate Units: Those commencing with a 4 or 5. (e.g., MGMT5511)

Students will be asked and assessed for their unit selection prior to arrival. Enrolment can be finalised pre-departure and the last day for unit changes if Friday of Week 1 of Classes.

Academic Restrictions

Units in the Medical and Dentistry Schools and Postgraduate units in the School of Psychological Sciences are not available to exchange and Study Abroad students. Postgraduate units (JD, Master) in the School of Law and undergraduate units in the School of Psychological Sciences are strictly limited to students meeting unit pre-requisites.

Students may apply to take any other unit in a standard course that they meet the prerequisites for. A few units may be (quota) restricted.
